Ol-Oret Grumeti

Serengeti

Explore The Ol-Oret Grumeti

Located in the wildlife-rich plains of Robanda on the north-western edge of Serengeti National Park, Ol-Oret Grumeti offers an exceptional safari escape where luxury meets one of the most dramatic wildlife landscapes on earth.

The lodge is strategically positioned just a few kilometers (15 minutes’ drive) from the Serengeti Ikoma entrance gate, one of the main access points into the Serengeti’s western corridor and central plains. Serengeti Ikoma Gate sits close to Robanda and provides quick access for daily game drives into the park’s wildlife-rich ecosystems.

The lodge is also conveniently located near Ikoma Airstrip, allowing guests to arrive by scenic flight from Arusha in about one to two hours before a short transfer to the lodge. From the lodge, guests can reach the heart of the Serengeti within a short drive, while also enjoying the benefits of being outside the park where exclusive activities such as walking safaris and night game drives are possible.

The area around Robanda lies directly along the route of the legendary Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and Plains zebra move across the Serengeti ecosystem.

Within driving distance to the north lies the dramatic Mara River, where between July and October the migration reaches its most iconic moment as massive herds gather and attempt the dangerous river crossings watched by predators and crocodiles.

Because of this unique location, guests staying at Ol Oret Grumeti Luxury Lodge are perfectly positioned to explore three major safari regions:

  • The Western Serengeti corridor, known for migration routes and the Grumeti River ecosystem
  • The Central Serengeti plains, famous for year-round predators and big cat sightings
  • The Northern Serengeti, home to the dramatic Mara River migration crossings
